Be Grateful

In life we have to play the hand we are given until we can reshuffle the cards.  I know that things may not be going completely as planned but remember they could be so much worse.  A grateful heart changes your perspective even when the conditions don't change.  Often times we are faced with lifes difficulties and don't know where to turn or what to do.  I encourage you to focus on what remains and don't spend all your time focusing on what was lost.  You will not have a perfect life and things won't always go your way.  Pressure reveals the real make up of a person.  You find out who people really are when pressure is applied to them.  Take some time and look at your life today.  You have so much to be grateful for but you keep focusing on the negative.  Allow life to teach you the lessons that will make you better.  You will not grow as a person if you stay stuck here.  You can't move on to the next chapter in your life if you keep rereading this chapter.  God has blessed you with life!  Make the best out of the life you have.  Never allow yourself to think yourself out of your dream.  Count the cost, create the plan, prepare to accomplish it and stay focused until it is complete.  You have to determine your success because others will cheer you on while it is comfortable for them.  There will come a time where you will have to stand alone and you have to know that during that time you won't fail because you were not built to last.  Be encouraged and keep your head up because there are still people depending on you.

Be the change you want to see...

There is nothing wrong with wanting to see change in your community and in the world.  You just have to make sure that you are a part of the change you want to see.  We have to make sure the causes that we fight for are just and we have to be fair about them.  We have to learn to deal with the principles of the matter and not just the matter.  As I reflect on the Mike Brown situation, I wish that we would be wise in what we do.  We need to do things that will make a difference and not just make noise.  We need to deal with the principle of the matter and not just try to make it racial.  Justice is not in the hands of the people that don't VOTE!  We want to see change and we refuse to do the things that creat it.  We can't just do things when it is racially motivated but we have to do things when they are principle driven.  We can't just fight for Mike Brown because he was murdered by an officer that happened to be white.  We have to stand up for all the other Mike Browns that were murdered by their same race peers.  Let's just make sure that we are making a difference and not just making noise.  No justice, no peace if fine to chant when you have voted to put the right people in position to make change... Accomplishment doesn't mean success

Everyone that accomplishes something is not successful.  There is a big difference between the two.  Accomplishing it means there was a goal or vision and it was completed.  The next level to accomplishment is success which takes the accomplishment to the next dimension.  If you want to be a chef just cooking a good meal doesn't make you successful.  You accomplished the meal preparation but did not complete the entire process.  Many of us have wonderful and powerful ideas that have the potential to be successful.  We just have to change our mindset so that we complete the process and stop just accomplishing half of our goal.  So today I encourage you to complete the process so that you can be successful and not just accomplish some stuff.  Have a great day!
